Sawyerville Junior Board

Purpose of the Junior Board
The Junior Board provides young professionals, ages 21-30, with a meaningful opportunity to stay connected to and support Sawyerville through outreach, fundraising, service, and community-building. A renewed version of the Junior Board that existed prior to COVID-19, this group offers a next step for former staff members, interns, and program participants to continue their involvement with Sawyerville in a new capacity. Junior Board members help expand the reach of Sawyerville’s three missions: to improve race relations in Alabama, to broaden the horizons of participants and staff, and to serve God. 

Junior Board members will: 
  • ​Serve a two-year term
  • ​Attend quarterly meetings
  • ​Meet an annual Give or Get goal of $100  (for example, $25  personal contribution and $75 raised through fundraising or outreach)
  • Serve on at least one committee, with opportunities in outreach, special events/event planning, recruiting, merchandise, and program support (click button below for more details)
  • Participate in Junior Board events and support Sawyerville programs throughout the year
  • Help grow Sawyerville’s community by inviting new people to events, volunteer opportunities, and other ways to get involved​​

​Membership is application-based and limited to approximately 20 members. Applications will open each fall, with new terms beginning in November.
