2025 Staff Dates:
Session 1: May 31 - June 6
Session 2: June 7 - June 13
Session 3: June 21 - June 27

Counselors in Training

If you are a former camper,  fifteen years old, and have completed the ninth-grade, you can apply to be a CIT (Counselor in Training). CITs are present from 7:30am to 8:30pm each day. During the camp day, they assist the staff in leading campers in activities, and after the camp day, they participate in clean-up, dinner, and staff meeting. CITs are invited to spend the night at the school with the staff.

Things to Know

Staff are expected to be fully present from Saturday afternoon to the following Friday morning at approximately 10:30am. If you cannot be present for the entire time, you cannot serve on staff.

Staff arrival times vary, so please arrive during your designated window. New staff check-in begins at 12:30pm, and returning staff check-in begins at 1:30pm. 
​

At the beginning of the session, staff will meet at Greensboro Elementary School which is located at 1801 South Street, Greensboro, AL, 36744. Please come to the rear entrance via State Street.

On the final Friday of the session, staff will leave from Greensboro Elementary School at approximately 10:30am.

Staff Info​rmation

  • Ages
    • Volunteer staff members can apply when they are at least 16 years old and have completed the tenth grade. Former campers can apply to be a Counselor in Training (CIT) when they are 15 years old and have completed the ninth grade.
  • Responsibilities
    • During the session, staff serve as small group leaders, shepherding 8-10 campers throughout the daily activities. 
    • Staff's top priority is to ensure their campers' safety and wellbeing. 
    • After the camp day, staff clean the school and prepare for the next day. They also attend a daily staff meeting.
    • Each evening ends with worship.
    • Staff must be present for the entire session including staff training and the closing service. If you cannot be present for the entire time, you cannot serve on staff. 
  • Pre-Camp Staff Training
    • Staff arrive on Saturday and spend the weekend getting to know one another and learning about their role.
  • Housing
    • Staff stay at Greensboro Elementary School where we hold camp. 
    • Boys and girls have separate sleeping spaces, and everyone sleeps on twin size air mattresses. If you do not have an air mattress, one will be provided.
    • Staff shower in the school locker rooms.
  • Meals
    • Staff eat breakfast, lunch, and their first snack with the campers. After the camp day, staff have another snack and dinner together. Dinner is provided by churches and groups from around the state. 
  • Cost
    • There is no cost associated with serving on staff, but donations are always welcome. It costs approximately $150 to sponsor a staff member. Make your gift here.
  • Visitors
    • Any and all visitors must be pre-approved by the Camp Director.
